Daihzey Westmoreland, 18, reacts after officially being accepted into Atterbury Job Corps, a tuition-free education and career training facility in Edinburgh, via telephone in a classroom at Open Door Youth Services in Floyd County. Westmoreland left her mother's home in the Indianapolis area at the age of 16 due to emotional and physical abuse, and spent about two years in various levels of homelessness before being placed at Open Door by the Indiana Department of Child Services in November of last year. She is scheduled to move to the Job Corps facility on March 3 to begin a program to help her finish her high school education and acquire career training. Staff photo by Christopher Fryer
